Judging by recent developments, republicanism as a cultural and political force is dead. John Lydon, the former Sex Pistols front man who sang "God Save the Queen! Her fascist regime!" has announced he wants to make a documentary. Against the monarchy? No. In praise of the "good" that the Royal family does.

Will republicanism soon be a word describing a piece of history, rather than an active, living political force?

But republicans are not easily put off. A united states of republican Europe is being promoted as a vision of the future. A host of organisations keen to replace constitutional monarchies in Europe with republics are banding together to advance a pan-European, pro-republic organisation. It's all happening this summer.

Here?s transcript of the interview:

Welcome. How do you feel about the turning point through which the country and people are passing through?

Whatever the people have aspired for is our desire. That is my desire too. Today the common man is feeling insecure, I feel. That is why I pray for peace in the country. I wish Nepali brothers and sisters and people get what they expect. There should be a space for all as soon as possible. The garland on with our forefathers had bonded this

It has been a tragedy since I can remember, but I am not talking about theatre. I am talking about the real life of millions of Italian citizens. It is very important to let out European Union compatriots know our situation, because we are unable to change it through a legal and democratic way without the intervention of the European Institutions. Is the European Union an organization created to let European citizens improve their lives, provide progress and prosperity? Or an entity that allows some governments to stay in power even when they refuse to follow basic democratic principles? "We can save one more life." Those were the last words Sister Anne, 35, of the order of the Nardini Sisters spoke before plunging back into the hospice with a fellow sister, having already rescued five patients.

Mission head nun Sister Irmingard told the Witness on Monday that moments after the second nun managed to escape, flames engulfed the thatched roof which then collapsed, killing Sister Anne and the three remaining patients.
The Witness was unable on Monday to obtain any information about the deceased patients, other than that they are all believed to have been aged between forty and forty-five, according to Wasbank

Taking a preventive approach, it advocates a mix of precautionary measures, disease surveillance, regular checks and scientific research.

The UK's latest outbreak of foot-and-mouth just a month ago highlighted the implications animal health has for human health, food safety, and economic prosperity, not to mention the ethical aspects. Summing up the new package, health commissioner Markos Kyprianou said "the aim is to serve public health and to achieve the highest possible level of animal health and welfare in the EU."

My recent reading of Thomas Paine's Common Sense has inspired me to do so. I strongly support Reza Pahlavi and believe he can contribute a great deal to the cause of freedom in Iran. Here's my reasoning: - 1. Uniting the opposition: Reza Pahlavi successfully articulates the shared goals of the Iranian opposition, which has long suffered from fractious disputes. In response to world events, he emphatically and consistently argues the cause of Iranian freedom, while sensitively messaging his ideas in ways that unite, rather than alienate, the diverse Iranian opposition community. - 2. The findings surprised astronomers because stars as big as these were thought to be inhospitable to planets.

"These extremely massive stars are tremendously hot and bright and have very strong winds, making the job of building planets difficult," said Joel Kastner of the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. "Our data suggest that the planet-forming process may be hardier than previously believed, occurring around even the most massive stars that nature produces."

Kastner is first author of a paper describing the research in the Feb. 10 issue of Astrophysical Journal Letters.
